Golden Eagle Golf Course Wedding: Melanie & Paul

Melanie & Paul Golden Eagle Golf Course Wedding

Before we met with Paul and Melanie for their wedding I had met long before. I attended high school with Paul at Fleetwood Park Secondary and spent 5 years attending classes together. Melanie and I met at our church youth group and spent years knowing each other at summer camps and weekly hangouts, but not talking too much!

Fast forward almost 10 years after graduation and Paul sent a message to me on Facebook asking if I would be interested in photographing their wedding! Being able to see old friends come together in marriage was a joy to be a part of.

The wedding day was a hot one! Luckily for their bridal portraits, we were able to hop into a helicopter (thanks to Sky Helicopters!!) to a snowy mountaintop. This was Paul and Melanie's first time in a chopper which made the experience even better, and their faces as we flew over rivers and lakes was priceless. With only a few minutes up on the mountaintop we went to work, and these guys were amazing. So relaxed and calm the whole day, they really made the day that much more enjoyable. Their pictures turned out amazing as a result of this!

Overall, great couple, great day, and great images to look back on. Thanks to all the amazing vendors that helped make this day so special!

Mission Wedding: Rachel & Elih

Rachel & Elih Mission Wedding

We first met Rachel and Elih at Starbucks in Maple Ridge for a quick chat about their wedding day over coffee (thanks to our friends at Jack Coffee for connecting us, you guys rock!!). Everything was pretty normal until near the end of our meeting. We had mentioned wanting to do some fun pictures involving a couple in water, like a lake. We typically throw out small ideas to our couples to help think of ideas, but we never actually expect them to agree to ALL the ideas! Long story short, Rachel and Elih were down to have some fun with their pictures, and we ended up with some pretty awesome pictures in Alloutte Lake with smoke bombs going off in the background.

For their wedding day we were a bit scared to suggest anything that might have Rachel and Elih ruining their wedding day attire.. simply because we knew there was a good chance that they would say yes!

Even though it was a November day filled with rain and wind, the warmth from these two and their friends and family made it such a great day to be a part of. Every word of encouragement. Every prayer. Every hug. Every one of these moments had such beauty and was filled with love.

We hope these images begin to tell the story of their day!

Glenbrook Park Wedding: Matt & Anna

Matt & Anna Glenbrook Park Wedding

Matt and Anna got married on a beautiful sunny day at the end of August and we truly feel honoured to have been there to capture it all. I've known Anna for a number of years as we both work as SEAs at an elementary school and I have also known her brother from snowboarding years ago.

Matt and Anna dated long distance for much of their relationship which Myles and I can relate to, it sucks... BUT when that ring was on her finger she knew that there would be no more goodbyes. The morning started off a bit cloudy and windy but by the time we arrived at the ceremony site, Glenbrook Park, the sun had came out. Matt and Anna's ceremony was one of the most beautiful ceremonies we have ever been a part of. They created the entire thing themselves and many happy tears were shed.

After the ceremony we headed over to Deer Lake Park to take some photos and we love that Anna was down to climb through some long grass in her dress. We returned to Glenbrook Park to their reception which was full of close family and friends from near and far. We don't think either of us, yes Myles included, have cried so much during speeches at any other wedding... including our own! You couldn't help but to shed a tear for how beautiful their family and friends spoke of both the bride and groom during speeches. The night ended with a great party (and candy bar)! We wish both Matt and Anna all the best as they move to Saskatoon to start their lives as Mr. & Mrs.!

PS. Anna's Dad made all of the woodwork and floral arrangements that decorated their ceremony and reception, we were blown away by how skilled and beautiful it was. Dad for the win!
