Intimate Elopement With Family and Friends: Marissa + Scott

Intimate Elopement with Family and Friends in Langley, BC

Myles has a dream that one day he will own land and become a farmer, raising animals and growing food for big family feasts. While he might be far away from living this dream we were blessed by Marissa and Scott who planned a beautiful intimate ceremony on their family property with gardens, cows, and family and friends.

It may have been raining for this ceremony but it certainly didn’t stop this beautiful elopement from happening and everyone having a great time. We learned on this day that some cows really don’t like clothing the coloured white, and our bride had to run away from an overly excited cow while we were taking pictures. If Scott didn’t jump in the way to distract we might have had VERY different pictures to be showing you!

What a wild year eh?

Everyone has had to put their wedding plans on hold, or change them dramatically. While the initial shock of this was pretty hard to process we ended up having some really special days with couples and their families. Do we want a do-over of the wedding season? Most days yeah.. but we are also so so so so grateful for the weddings + elopements we were able to be a part of this year.

This day was ended up being very special, and it was filled with tears of joy with a picturesque waterfall as the backdrop. Thankfully, the restrictions at the time allowed for small gatherings of friends and family to witness and give encouragement as these two said “I do”. We are very happy to have these friends and fellow photographers Simone + Tomasz, and we continue to dream about the day they get to celebrate with friends and family in Pemberton at one of our favourite venues!!

Intimate Elopement in Fanny Bay: Anna & Noah Pt. 1

Anna and Noah are some of the most fun people we have ever met. Their positivity was so apparent from the first phone call we had with them, and it was hard not to laugh with them as they shared amazing stories of their relationship. We were so happy to be able to meet up with them in the summer to take their engagement photos and to hear about their new wedding plans and their dream for a redneck-style backyard reception. It seemed like there wasn’t anything that could bring these two down.

The new plan: Have an intimate elopement with Noah’s dad and grandma who live in the beautiful Vancouver Island community of Fanny Bay.

Showing up to their house we ran into Noah building a table in the garage with his dad’s neighbour for the signing of marriage documents while Anna was inside getting ready. It was the most DIY thing we have seen, and it turned out great! Walking around back we ran into the beautiful wedding arch and lights that they set up to create the perfect spot to get married. Add in a few close family members and you have the recipe for a beautiful intimate wedding ceremony with so many special little moments.
