Elegant Backyard Abbotsford Wedding: Jessica + Levi

Elegant Backyard Abbotsford Wedding: Jessica + Levi

We LOVED working with Jess and Levi. Why? Besides being the sweetest, nicest, fun couple, they said ‘yes’ to everything during their engagement session which resulted in an amazing spent evening running through the ocean shallows. Their elegant backyard wedding in Abbotsford was so much fun with their great attitudes, amazing community of family and friends, and a beautiful sunny summer day.

Rustic DIY Wedding: Rachel + Tyler Abbotsford Wedding

Rustic DIY Wedding in Abbotsford: Rachel + Tyler

Rachel and Tyler had a seriously picture perfect wedding in the middle of July that even included a fly by in a helicopter (we are ALWAYS game for helicopters). Myles actually has known Tyler and his family for a number of years from attending church together back in the day. Again, so great when we know a few faces. Rachel was absolutely stunning, everything was just perfection, from her dress, to her hair, to her makeup, to her attitude. She was just so much fun and so easy going it was a dream to capture her and her friends getting ready at her childhood home in Abbotsford.

Rachel and Tyler were married at Bakerview Church in Abbotsford and then we all headed to take some bridal party photos at a park. We can't thank the bridal party enough for putting up with the heat and the crazy amount of mosquitos that seemed to follow us everywhere we went. Rachel and Tyler wanted to surprise their guests by doing a fly by over cocktail hour in a helicopter. We LOVED this idea and we worked quickly to set it up, I quickly drove to the reception location while Myles stayed with Tyler and Rachel to capture a few shots of them taking off before rushing back to the reception location as well. All of their guests we shocked seeing the couple fly overhead in a helicopter and went crazy. We've been involved with a few helicopters for weddings and have been fortunate to fly in a few but we have to say this was the closest fly by we have ever seen. I seriously thought they might clip the reception tents, nothing like a little adrenaline to get ready for a night of partying with guests!

Rachel and Tyler had their reception at a family friend's property and it was absolutely stunning, everything about it! Rachel's Dad works as a stone masonry and he made the table numbers which were cut from stone slabs. They were so cool I wanted to take them home and I may or may not have asked her Dad if I could purchase a few. (Is that offer still up for grabs Mr. Funk?) There were stations of the couples favourite pairings for example beer and pretzels, popcorn and juice, veggies and dip, and so on. Have I mentioned that we love to eat?! Once landing in the field beside their reception, Rachel and Tyler and their guests enjoyed a lovely sunset dinner underneath a few gorgeous white tents. This was before the wildfire situation in BC had set in so there was a lovely mountain view all night and it did not disappoint! Thank you Rachel and Tyler for being so fun and adventurous and for choosing us to capture your special day.

Manning Park Wedding: Anne & Dylan

Anne & Dylan Manning Park Mountain Wedding

This weekend was one of our favourites of the year. Anne and Dylan had planned to be married in Manning Park, where Dylan had proposed! We were excited and a little anxious for this wedding because it would be our first weekend away with our 1-month-old baby. Thankfully Chantelle's mom jumped at the opportunity to spend an entire day with her new grandson.

We had so much fun at this wedding. First of all the ceremony was held at the beautiful Lightning Lake. Secondly, we were expecting rain but that never happened. Third, everyone who was in attendance at this wedding was in such good spirits and made the celebration all the more enjoyable.

Some fun takeaways: Myles confirmed his fear of birds when they were dive bombing the bridal party who were holding out seeds. Dylan let one (a bird) eat off his head. Chantelle wore winter clothes in June and was still cold. Lastly, Anne and Dylan made us feel like family.

Enjoy some of the magic from that day!
