Before we met with Paul and Melanie for their wedding I had met long before. I attended high school with Paul at Fleetwood Park Secondary and spent 5 years attending classes together. Melanie and I met at our church youth group and spent years knowing each other at summer camps and weekly hangouts, but not talking too much! 

Fast forward almost 10 years after graduation and Paul sent a message to me on Facebook asking if I would be interested in photographing their wedding! Being able to see old friends come together in marriage was a joy to be a part of. 

The wedding day was a hot one! Luckily for their bridal portraits, we were able to hop into a helicopter (thanks to Sky Helicopters!!) to a snowy mountaintop. This was Paul and Melanie's first time in a chopper which made the experience even better, and their faces as we flew over rivers and lakes was priceless. With only a few minutes up on the mountaintop we went to work, and these guys were amazing. So relaxed and calm the whole day, they really made the day that much more enjoyable. Their pictures turned out amazing as a result of this! 

Overall, great couple, great day, and great images to look back on. Thanks to all the amazing vendors that helped make this day so special!

Cammidge House Wedding: Onome & Andrew

Onome & Andrew at Cammidge House Wedding

Onome and Andrew were married on a beautiful day in May of this 2018. We met them over a year ago over coffee and discussed what they were hoping for in terms of their wedding day. We have to say that we think that they achieved their goal, to get married! Both Andrew and Onome were so calm and peaceful on their wedding day and that really made our job so easy. Their wedding day was actually exactly two weeks after our little guy Aspen was born and Chantelle was still healing so we brought along the very talented Laine Mostert to second shoot. Cammidge House is such a beautiful venue and we were so excited to capture their entire day there (and return later in the year for another wedding). We loved the simplicity of their day and that everyone was so into the dancing during the reception. If you know anything about us, you know that we love a good dance party! It was a pleasure being a part of your wedding Onome and Andrew!

Manning Park Wedding: Anne & Dylan

Anne & Dylan Manning Park Mountain Wedding

This weekend was one of our favourites of the year. Anne and Dylan had planned to be married in Manning Park, where Dylan had proposed! We were excited and a little anxious for this wedding because it would be our first weekend away with our 1-month-old baby. Thankfully Chantelle's mom jumped at the opportunity to spend an entire day with her new grandson.

We had so much fun at this wedding. First of all the ceremony was held at the beautiful Lightning Lake. Secondly, we were expecting rain but that never happened. Third, everyone who was in attendance at this wedding was in such good spirits and made the celebration all the more enjoyable. 

Some fun takeaways: Myles confirmed his fear of birds when they were dive bombing the bridal party who were holding out seeds. Dylan let one (a bird) eat off his head. Chantelle wore winter clothes in June and was still cold. Lastly, Anne and Dylan made us feel like family.
